Texnikoi Outstanding Alumni Award

Texnikoi is an organization of undergraduate students in the College of Engineering that recognizes qualities of leadership, integrity and personality as exemplified by active participation and leadership in extracurricular activities. Each year the active membership of Texnikoi selects one of the younger alumni of the College of Engineering as a recipient of the Texnikoi Outstanding Alumni Award. This award is based upon their achievements since graduation, evaluated in light of the objectives of Texnikoi.

Chakka Parker

Chakka Parker is a strategic project and engineering manager at Raytheon Company within Space and Airborne Systems. Her career has advanced to roles in program management and engineering management. Prior to joining Raytheon, she was an analog circuit designer for Texas Instruments, where she made contributions to the Analog Business Group.

Parker is very active in Raytheon’s diversity and inclusion, STEM and recruitment efforts. As a member of the Raytheon South Regional Advisory Board, she provides guidance, mentorship and strategies to implement the company’s diversity and inclusion initiatives. She has also facilitated several workshops to promote diversity competencies and was recently elected south regional vice president of the Raytheon American Indian Employee Resource Group.

As the Raytheon campus manager for The Ohio State University, Parker manages the strategic university partnership and a team of Raytheon personnel to recruit top talent. She serves on Ohio State’s Undergraduate Admission/University Orientation/First Year Experience Alumni Society Board of Governors and assists in the university’s recruitment efforts of incoming freshman students. She is also a member of the EE/ECE Alumni Society. Parker also serves her local community as an active member of the North Dallas Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Chapter Sorority, and is a member of the National Society of Black Engineers and the Society of Women Engineers.

Parker received the Raytheon 2014 Women to Watch Community Focused Award for exemplifying successful work-life balance through job excellence, the advancement and mentoring of women and dedication to improving the work community.

She earned a bachelor’s (’02) in electrical and computer engineering and master’s in electrical engineering (’04) from Ohio State, and an Executive MBA and master’s degree in international management studies from the University of Texas at Dallas.
